NEW SPIRITUAL TREND IN TRAVELLING: CO-LIVING

I remember when I was about 20, I was jealous of my father traveling all over the World. Different places, nice hotels, different cultures, meeting interesting people.

I grew up and have a job that gives me a chance to travel quite a bit. All airports, hotels and people look alike.

As a rule, I don´t feel the culture as most of the places are so globalized with all these chain “standards” that nothing surprises me anymore. My view has changed not only because of my age and experience but also because I have different values. I do not feel the energy anymore.

I´ve recently noticed that the word “NOMAD” became quite common in my conversations with people and I have to say I feel like a nomad in different ways. We have two legs to walk, we have all sorts of vehicles to travel the World, we tend to show to our kid’s different sights – we are nomads and we like it!

And still, there is something that makes this whole traveling issue tiring. Some people decided to change the way of their life rapidly and started joining different retreat groups. They consider spiritual retreat as something that will help them to restart their focus. I can´t judge as I´ve never tried it before and to be honest, I am not ready to do it yet. Why? The moments I share with my family is so precious that I am not ready to spend even a minute more away if it is not necessary. You may argue with me and say: “Isn`t your “inner world restart” an essential thing that you should give yourself in a way?” You are probably right and I tend to look for different options then leaving my family alone and believe I will make myself more relaxed on a retreat. Still, I have to admit that the whole retreat idea is interesting. We need to think about regaining the energy and for me that is directly linked with my spiritual or inner world.

So, what results from these thoughts? I want to travel and meet new people, get to know the culture and spend time in different places. While working and leaving the family behind the traveling is not what I would want anymore. And now it comes, the idea of co-living! Something that can be a new way of traveling for nomads with securing the space both for your spiritual and working needs.

As it accords to its definition, “the purpose of co-living is to create a home environment that inspires and empowers its residents to be active creators and participants in the world around them. Co-living houses enable sustainable lifestyles through sharing and efficient use of resources and space.” So far co-living is normally considered to be aimed for long-term residents, can it be used by travelers? People that move from one place to another have their individual needs, look for places where they can travel with a partner or family and still feel the energy of sharing. Another inspiring slogan says Live-Work-Play while Live means to be connected and belong to a certain community or a group. Work stands for collaboration, grow for success and Play for exploring, discovering and learning. All these would fit to my idea of traveling and not only living. It would be great to enjoy travelling while having a chance to spend some time with inspiring nomads, explore their way of living and get new insights.
